Crooked Acres Dairy
Job Posting
The Farm
Crooked Acres Dairy is a 70-milking-cow production dairy farm in central Bucks County, 30 miles northeast of Philadelphia. We manage 200 acres and milk Registered Holsteins twice daily. Our production average is 27,000 pounds with a SCC of 100,000. Our tie-stall barn features a rail carrier for 8 automatic take-off milking machines. Feeding includes ration mixes for the mature cows (4 times daily) and dry cows and heifers (once per day). Calves are fed milk and grain twice per day. Manure is managed by bedding with straw and sand and cleaned with a barn cleaner chain, by hand, and with a skid-steer loader. May-November work includes 3-4 cuttings of alfalfa, orchard grass, and grains; small square bales of hay and straw. Special projects (birthing calves, repairs, unloading deliveries, facility improvements) occur regularly.
